Cameron Through The Years From Tape Decks to Tech Decks

Some stories start with a bang.
Ours started with a Betamax.

Cameron Events (or as it was back then, Cameron Video Systems Ltd, Cameron Presentations, and a few other colourful iterations) has been at the heart of Scotland’s event and AV scene for decades and our archives tell a cracking story.

The video revolution kicked off with our dad, Chris Cameron, a pioneer in video technology who saw the potential of AV long before it was trendy. From fitting CCTV into Celtic Park in the 80s (when telex numbers were still a thing!) to selling top-of-the-range video editing decks to broadcasters, he laid the foundation for what’s now a third-generation family business.

Over the years, we’ve gone from grainy VHS demos and rainbow gradient folders to LED walls, seamless digital content, and high-end production that turns heads at conferences, awards, and hybrid events across Scotland and beyond.

You’ll spot in the gallery a few blasts from the past like:

• Our classic turquoise ‘C’ logo from the Cameron Video days. Simple. Effective. And just a wee bit Pac-Man.

• The rainbow-slick Cameron Presentations look from the early 2000s, a bold move (and a very shiny one).

• Wild animations, print adverts, and technicolour CD duplication offers, proof that we were embracing multimedia before the rest of the world caught up.

• Our early forays into interactive LED floors, poseur tables, and visualisation mockups long before “immersive” became the buzzword.

Now, under the Cameron Events banner, we’re pushing boundaries once again with AV production that’s sharp, sustainable, and seriously well-executed. Alongside our sister brand All Event Hire, we’re still keeping it in the family and still making sure every event we touch looks, sounds, and feels phenomenal.

It’s been a journey, one full of cables, colours, clients, and the occasional rebrand. But through it all, we’ve stuck to what matters: quality kit, brilliant people, and a healthy disregard for doing things the boring way.
