Keep Calm and Cameron On: Our Response to COVID-19 17.03.2020 | Blog Author:Cameron Events Without a doubt, these are turbulent times for the events industry. With the rapid spreading of COVID-19, events are being cancelled left, right, and centre. Social distancing has been recommended, self-isolation and working from home are the new norm. As event profs—who champion face-to-face interaction as a fundamental part of what we do—this is heart-breaking to see. But we get it. Of course we do. However, if there is one thing we have done for 74 years…it’s make sure that if the show needs to go on, the show will go on. It’s what we do, it’s in our DNA. The events must go on With technology constantly evolving—and delegates expecting more from events as a result—we’re not ones to stand still. In fact, we have the tools already in place, and the creativity needed, to make the most of this situation. We’re talking about virtual events. Say hello to Cameron Live We live in an instant-on, access-anywhere, on-demand world. And it’s time to take advantage of it. Our live-streaming service—Cameron Live—lets you host your events virtually. We’ll get your presenter(s) set up in front of a camera, in the location of your choice, and broadcast to your delegates. Simple as that. And it doesn’t have to be a one-way conversation, either. We can have multiple feeds side-by-side, facilitating panel discussions where each speaker can be broadcast from a different place. And your delegates can join in too, with real-time Q&A via social media messaging and call-ins—even appearing in the broadcast with the help of their trusty webcams. (Face-to-face interaction prevails! Bringing a whole new meaning to the term ‘screen protection’…) We can also help out with completely-customised content creation—like intro vids, presentation slides, and anything else that takes your fancy—so you won’t lose the essence of your event. And if it’s loss of production value you’re worried about, don’t fret; we can create a ‘virtual stage’, essentially a 3D render of your set design. Your host will stand in front of a green screen—but, to the viewers, it will seem like they’re in situ at the venue. (Is there anything you can’t do with a green screen?) So there you have it. Regardless of travel restrictions and self-isolation, you can continue hosting events, connecting ideas, and spreading your message—*not* the virus. Ready to go Cameron Live?
