Adventure is out there!

A day in the life of an Event Manager can be challenging, exciting, exhilarating, intrepid….but never boring. In short, it’s always an adventure!

No two days are ever the same, and this was definitely the case with Team Cameron at Aqua Nor 2023 in the beautiful city of Trondheim, Norway.

The background

Since 1979, Aqua Nor has been an important international meeting place for the aquaculture industry, and it is now the world’s largest aquaculture technology exhibition. In recent years, the Aqua Nor has drawn about 25,000 visitors from up to 76 nations to its halls at the Trondheim Spektrum, a multipurpose arena for sports, culture and business.

The trip

The flight was an early one – 6am on Saturday – so 3 strong Starbucks later, our team flew out from Glasgow Airport to Amsterdam, then grabbed a connecting flight to Trondheim Norway. Safe to say the scenery en-route was simply breath-taking.

Team Cameron in full effect

As part of Aqua Nor 2023, Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE), Sustainable Aquaculture Innovation Centre (SAIC) and the Scottish Government all collaborated to host the Scottish Pavilion, which showcased Scottish expertise in the aquaculture supply chain to an international trade audience.

Our role was to support them with the exhibition element of their attendance at the event. Partnering with our good friends at Collective Events, we designed, built and dismantled the Scottish Pavilion, and provided exhibitor management for both pre-event and on event days.

Our team came ready for action, bringing with us from Scotland, all AV equipment and event furniture required by our client and the exhibitors on the Pavilion, managed onsite by our in-house AV Technician, Chris Pacitti.

Once the exhibition was open, a full programme of presentations took place on the Scottish Pavilion, which were managed and run by me and Chris in line with the agreed schedule.

As lead contact at the event for both our client and their exhibitors on the Pavilion, my personal role was to ensure that they were fully supported throughout their time at the event. Access times, exhibitor passes, power supplies, presentation content, refreshments and safety were all taken care of, with every detail well considered and fully accommodated by our team in a swift and discreet manner.

A fantastic 6 day round trip full of fun and thrills in one of the most beautiful parts of the world, and a fabulous testament to our amazing Event Management and Exhibitions team.

Safe to say I had a blast!
